Schuko translated in simple terms means ‘protective contact.’ Normally used with 230v circuits, schuko plugs are designed with “protective-earth contacts,” which mean they have clips instead of plugs. These are the spaces on the top and bottom of the plug, outside of the two pins, creating two different ways to plug it into the wall.
