  5. The thumb wheel allows you to access basic options like JPEG playback and tape recording quickly. A separate joystick allows for deeper navigation of menu features and camera controls.

  10. Soft Skin Mode
  11. This feature detects skin tones, and softens the focus in that area of the picture. Blemishes and lines appear less noticeable, while other areas in the picture remain sharp.

  13. You can prepare your camcorder for almost any recording condition by using the following automatic exposure settings: Sports Mode, Portrait Mode, Low Light, Spot Light, Surf & Snow.

  17. The PhotoShot digital still camera feature lets you use the camcorder as a still camera. The PV-GS36 is also ready for a variety of multimedia applications and can easily serve as a web camera for videoconferencing.
  18. Progressive PhotoShot Mode
  19. This feature helps to eliminate fuzziness by capturing the image and then temporarily storing the image in two separate fields. The two images of the exact same moment are then combined, with no time lag, to produce images of better quality than standard recorded stills.
  20. Cinema Mode
  21. The NV-GS60 allows you to record video in widescreen mode, giving you a 16:9 aspect ratio. When played back on a television, the result is dramatic looking cinema-like movies at home.
  22. Zoom Mic
  23. As you zoom in on the picture, the audio will also zoom in so you can better pinpoint sound sources.
  24. RapidFire Consecutive Photoshot
  25. Allows you to record still pictures at approximately 0.07 second intervals until the PhotoShot button is released or 16 pictures are recorded.
