  1. With a player that's less than two inches thick, the Audiovox D1998PK is miniature entertainment system you can take just about anywhere. In addition to watching DVD, DVD+/-R and DVD+/-RW discs you can listen to music recorded on CD, CD-R, and CD-RW. You can even view JPEG photos on Picture CDs and zoom and rotate them as you do.
  2. The D1998PK features a 9" LCD screen that presents a bright, clear picture. For your listening pleasure there are built in stereo speakers and dual foldable stereo headphones.
  3. The"PK" in the D1998PK is a"portable kit". This model takes the popular D1998 portable DVD player, adds foldable stereo headphones, an A/V cable and an ingenious carry bag that converts into a cradle that you can strap on to a car seatback so backseat passengers can enjoy all of the entertainment possibilities (DVD, CD, pictures) the D1998PK has to offer.
  4. You can still place the D1998PK on the picnic table and relax on a chaise with your favorite snacks. You can control the set with its tiny credit-card sized remote.
  5. You can also use the D1998PK as a DVD player alone when you plug it into a separate television. That's a great convenience when you want to watch DVDs in a room that has a TV but doesn't have a player.

  7. The D1998 plays both NTSC (North American Standard) and PAL (UK, Australia and most of Western Europe) system DVD disks. In addition to picture standards the world of DVD is divided into six zones for distribution purposes. The D1998PK plays all discs, regardless of their region codes. This capability is known variously as region free, all region, multi region, multi zone and so on. What it means to you is that the 1998PK can play the widest variety of pre-recorded discs of just about any player.
