By integrating Sonys exclusive digital technologies, the CCP2 (Component Composite Processor), DRC-MF (Digital Reality Creation -Multi Function) and MID-X (Multi Image Driver) within one powerful processor, the new WEGA Engine fully processes a multitude of signals in the digital realm, ensuring Full Digital Processing from source to display minimizing the number of analogue to digital conversions, the result? Higher Signal-to-Noise Ratio, producing superior image quality with less noise, better resolution, contrast and reality.
DRC-MF(DRC1250/DRC100/DRC Progressive)
DRC1250 doubles both the horizontal and vertical density in real-time. Using twice the interlaced scanning lines and twice the horizontal pixels, it produces superior picture quality in which visible scanning lines are significantly minimized. DRC100 uses a field-doubling technology or 100Hz technology, which results in smooth-moving images and stable, flicker-free still images. DRC Progressive is another option ideal for still image viewing by not only eliminating line-flicker but also provides increased clarity for displaying text and subtitles, which require finer detailing.
3D Solution(3D Digital Filter/ 3D-NR)
Images are improved using conventional comb filters that only adjust horizontal scanning lines within a frame. However Sony's 3D Digital Comb Filter goes two steps further by combing not only horizontal and vertial lines but also diagonal lines. This added analysis and correction results in sharper picture quality and purer colour with less noise. 3D-NR (Noise Reduction) improves the picture quality of TV or video sources that carry weak signals, delivering noiseless, clear and crisp pictures.
Cinema Drive Mode
This mode is able to reproduce and preserve the originality of the movie images by automatically recognising the "3-2-3-2" pattern of the movie source conversion. You will see more consistent fine details for a viewing experience similar to the movie theatre without unsightly "juddering" artifacts.
MID-X Detail Enhancer
The new signal conversion technology called MID-X (Multi Image Driver-X) enhances vertical and horizontal edges through the use of Sony's digital algorithm. Higher levels of detailed images will be reproduced on every signal, from NTSC/PAL signals up to HD sources.
